Welltel wins Deloitte award four years in a row.

Over the past number of years, the consensus nationally has shifted. The views that Ireland’s economy is strengthening again are widely acknowledged and the evidence shows more people being back to work, more businesses in growth and in turn, more stories of success emerge in the news.

Welltel is one such success story which can be traced back a decade but has seen a significant shift in gears over the past four years, with the acquisition of two companies, the expansion of the company’s head office, and the arrival of an experienced team to bolster their already significant engineering presence which have all lead to their fourth consecutive Deloitte Fast 50 Award.

Earlier this year the company acquired ATS (Advanced Telephone Systems), a major player in the telecoms industry. This had a significant effect on the company’s enterprise-level customer base, increasing it well into triple figures with brands such as Version 1, Mazars, Pobal and Jones Engineering Group joining their customer base.

Strategic Growth through Acquisition

“Our strategy is to grow our business through a combination of strategic acquisitions alongside strong organic sales growth. Every potential acquisition that we are looking at will both widen our customer base and allow us to offer a wider range of services to our existing and prospective customers. This allows us to continue towards our goal of becoming the largest end to end business communications provider in the country.” – Ross Murray, CEO of Welltel.

In 2018 the company plans to invest in deeper customer education and training. We want to ensure that our client’s businesses are getting the maximum return on their investment. “Adare Manor is a prime example of a company adopting a much more integrated approach to their communication systems. Their entire network is integrated across guest services, conference and business facilities and internal communication tools. It’s an example of what’s possible once the right infrastructure is put in place “ – Wendy Riordan – Enterprise Sales Manager

Adare Manor Good for Business

The recent Adare Manor redevelopment saw Welltel, in partnership with Alcatel Lucent Enterprise, deliver advanced technology and web services within the hotel including a mobile app connected to the new Phone System, a fully integrated company-wide communications platform through Alcatel’s UC product and high spec touchscreen phones in each bedroom. This was a significant win for the company and one which has created many more opportunities due to the high calibre of planning and engineer work that this project required.

The absorption of ATS represents the second such acquisition in as many years for Welltel. Projections would suggest that with VoIP and broadband infrastructure becoming a more democratic medium Welltel are ‘Well’ positioned to benefit in 2018 and beyond.

“While the larger customers demand most of the major innovation, it’s the SMEs who are likely to benefit in the medium and long-term” – JP Crilly Sales Director of Welltel.

“There are a number of industries reinventing what ‘the workplace’ looks like, whether it’s remote working, professional services sector, or greater integration between sites in construction and retail. It’s our goal to remain at the leading edge of these innovations and to introduce them as service offerings to the market when and where we see fit” – explained JP Crilly.

This is Welltel’s 4th year in the Deloitte Fast50 and 2nd consecutive year in the Top 30 fastest growing technology companies in Ireland. CEO Murray continued “I think the Fast 50 is a brilliant program for highlighting the success stories in our industry. Huge credit and thanks to Deloitte for all the efforts that go into putting such a great event together year after year. We are delighted to have finished in the top 30 again as each year it gets harder to do so. Nonetheless, with our 2017 growth, we are hopeful of a big jump in our rankings for next year to take us into the top 10 for next year’s rankings.”

The company offers businesses a complete communications suite across voice, data and internet access services. Their engineering team design and deploy solutions using their own telecommunications infrastructure alongside all the major communications suppliers including Alcatel Lucent Enterprise, Toshiba, NEC, Polycom, Cisco and their own Hosted PBX solution Welltel ThreeSixty which is aimed at 4 – 50 user companies.
